"Open Daycare Centers" is a project promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare as part of measures to eradicate child abuse. It aims to create a safe childcare environment that parents can trust by opening daycare facilities and encouraging parental participation.
Since 2017, Gwangjin-gu has been expanding the number of Open Daycare Centers annually, and this year plans to secure a total of 41 centers, including 10 newly added ones, which accounts for more than 25% of all daycare centers in the area.
The district will accept applications for daycare centers online in August, conduct on-site and document inspections, and select Open Daycare Centers through a review by the selection committee.
The selected daycare centers will operate as Open Daycare Centers from November 1st until October 31st of the following year, and will receive additional points during the selection of new Seoul-type daycare centers and the re-commissioning review of public daycare centers.
Additionally, they will receive various incentives such as priority support for assistant teachers and, newly added this year, priority support for teaching materials and equipment expenses.
