Next Month, the 6th Preparatory Meeting for the 'P4G Seoul Summit' Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Environment held the 6th Preparatory Committee meeting for the '2021 P4G (Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030) Seoul Summit' to be held in Korea next month on the 27th.
The 'P4G Summit,' held every two years, is the first multilateral environmental summit hosted by Korea. It will be conducted online over two days starting May 30.
At the meeting, Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong emphasized Korea's commitment to raising its greenhouse gas reduction targets within the year and halting public financial support for overseas coal power plants, as pledged by President Moon Jae-in at the U.S. Climate Summit on the 22nd.

Minister Chung said, “Since (President Moon) expressed a strong will to strengthen climate action, we must concretize ambitious practices,” adding, “Only when carbon neutrality goals and policies are supported can we lead international discussions.”
