‘Medical Staff Confirmed’ Partial Cohort Quarantine at a Hospital in Gwangju
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] A section of a hospital in Gwangju Metropolitan City, where vaccinated medical staff tested positive, has been placed under cohort isolation.
Gwangju's quarantine authorities announced on the 27th that a ward in Nam-gu, where four people including vaccinated medical staff were confirmed to have COVID-19, will be under cohort isolation for 14 days until the 10th of next month.
At the hospital, two medical staff and two subcontractor employees tested positive for COVID-19 between the 24th and 25th.
Among the four confirmed cases, three had received the AstraZeneca vaccine last month.
There are currently 10 patients and 8 caregivers in the isolated ward.

The quarantine authorities conducted diagnostic tests on about 580 people, and aside from the four confirmed cases, no additional positive cases have been reported yet. Ten people are awaiting test results.
