Accessing Another School's Online Class and Exposing Genitals... Suspended Prison Sentence
[Asia Economy Reporter Bae Kyunghwan] A teenager who accessed another school's online video class and engaged in obscene behavior was sentenced to a suspended prison term.
According to the legal community on the 27th, A (19) entered an online video classroom of a high school in Gwangju Metropolitan City last year, when most schools nationwide were conducting remote classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and exposed his genitals.
In particular, A reportedly spoke as if asking a question, making himself appear prominently on the screen so that other students could see him before committing the act.
At that time, A used the name of a sex offender who had caused public outrage for producing and distributing child sexual exploitation material as his personal information visible to teachers and others. Although the teacher conducting the class blocked the video class program, it is reported that most of the male and female students participating in the class witnessed the scene.
A was caught through police tracking of his Internet Protocol (IP). Investigations revealed that A entered the video classroom using the internet address and password for the school's remote class, which had been posted in an open chat room on social media.
