Gimhae-si Raises Social Distancing to Level 2 ... From the 27th to the 3rd of Next Month
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, will raise social distancing from level 1.5 to level 2 for one week from 0:00 on the 27th to 24:00 on May 3rd.
The city explained that recently, starting with a group infection at a senior day care center, group infections have occurred at cram schools and other places. Although efforts are being made to block the spread of infection through bans on gatherings at academies and other places from the 22nd, small-scale infections continue to occur, making it inevitable to raise the level to 2 to quickly block the spread of infection.
With this upgrade to social distancing level 2, the ban on private gatherings of 5 or more people will continue, and other meetings and events will be limited to fewer than 100 people.
In addition, operating hours will be restricted from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the next day for five types of entertainment facilities including nightclubs, danran bars, emotional pubs, and colatecs, as well as singing rooms, door-to-door sales and direct sales promotion centers, party rooms, and indoor sports facilities.
Restaurants and cafes will only be allowed takeout and delivery from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the next day, and quarantine rules such as limits on the number of people per facility area will be strengthened depending on the type of business.

Mayor Heo Seong-gon said, “The spread of COVID-19 nationwide is not slowing down, and infections continue steadily in our city as well. If we fail to curb the spread now, a greater crisis may come. This upgrade in the level is an inevitable measure to overcome the crisis, so despite the difficulties, I ask for the understanding and participation of all citizens.”
