Based on the 'Youth Basic Ordinance,' Andong City formed the Youth Policy Committee and held its inaugural ceremony on the 23rd. The committee consists of a total of 20 members, including the Vice Mayor of Andong City as the chairperson, heads of departments related to youth projects, experts on youth policy, and 11 youth members with extensive activity experience.
The Andong City Youth Basic Ordinance stipulates fundamental matters concerning guaranteeing social participation of local youth, developing policies for youth, and supporting youth. It was revised in July last year with the aim of contributing to the promotion and development of youth rights and interests.

An official from Andong City stated, "To cooperate and provide advice on youth policy projects, a youth chairperson will be elected among the youth committee members, forming a co-chair system, which is expected to lead to more active activities." He added, "A research project to establish a basic plan for youth policy will be conducted by September."
