Global COVID-19 Vaccinations Surpass 1 Billion Doses... US, China, and India Account for 58%
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered worldwide has surpassed 1 billion.
AFP reported on the 24th (local time) that at least 1,000,293,854 vaccine doses have been administered across 207 countries and regions.
More than half, 58%, of the vaccinations were concentrated in three countries: the United States, China, and India. The United States administered 225.6 million doses, China 216.1 million doses, and India 138.4 million doses.
In terms of the proportion of the population receiving at least one dose, Israel led with nearly 60% vaccinated, followed by the United Arab Emirates (51%), the United Kingdom (49%), the United States (42%), Chile (41%), Bahrain (38%), and Uruguay (32%).
In the European Union (EU), 128 million doses have been administered, representing 21% of the population.
