Gwangju Dong-gu 'Gyerim 1st Children's Park' Renovation Project 추진
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 23rd that it will carry out a large-scale renovation project including the replacement of aging facilities and the creation of a safe environment through the maintenance project of ‘Gyerim No.1 Children's Park,’ selected as a 2021 resident participatory budget project.
Gyerim No.1 Children's Park (total area approximately 750㎡) has been used as a resting space for users of Pureungil Park and residents of nearby apartments, but due to aging facilities, convenience and safety for residents have declined, and continuous requests for facility improvements have been made.
Accordingly, Dong-gu plans to invest 40 million KRW secured through the resident participatory budget to carry out environmental maintenance such as repairing aging facilities and replacing floor pavement.
In particular, in line with Dong-gu’s status as a ‘child-friendly city,’ additional playground equipment favored by children, such as a ‘combination playset’ and a ‘rocking play equipment,’ will be installed to guarantee the right to play, and various play facilities will be made safer to experience by finishing with elastic pavement materials considering safety.
