Gwangjin-gu Hosts 'Family Photo Contest to Improve Dementia Awareness'
Family Daily Life Photo Contest with Grandparents and Grandchildren Until May 15
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is hosting a 'Family Photo Contest' in May, the month of family, to raise awareness about the elderly and improve dementia awareness.
This contest was organized to provide an opportunity to share everyday family photos and remind each other of their importance, as family meetings have become difficult due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing.
The contest theme is "Photos capturing the harmonious moments of various daily lives shared by families," and participants can submit moments shared by 1st and 3rd generation or 1st and 4th generation family members, such as grandparents and grandchildren.
Eligible participants include residents of Gwangjin-gu or workers located in Gwangjin-gu, and not only families of dementia patients but also general families can participate.
Families wishing to participate should fill out the application form posted on the Gwangjin-gu Dementia Safety Center website and submit it via email along with up to three photos by May 15.
Submitted works will be judged, and a total of 38 awards will be given, including 1 grand prize, 2 excellence awards, and 5 merit awards.
Additionally, the winning works will be used in campaigns to improve dementia awareness, events commemorating Dementia Overcoming Day, and exhibitions at welfare centers and senior centers, bringing warmth and joy to the residents.
For more details, please refer to the announcements on the Gwangjin-gu Dementia Safety Center website or contact the center.
