Dongjak-gu Provides Childbirth Support Funds... 300,000 KRW for First Child, 500,000 KRW for Second, 1,000,000 KRW for Third, 2,000,000 KRW for Fourth and Beyond
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Chang-woo Lee) is providing childbirth support funds to overcome low birth rates and promote a childbirth-friendly atmosphere.
The eligible families are those registered as residents in Dongjak-gu for at least six months prior to the newborn's birth date. Childbirth support funds are provided as follows: 300,000 KRW for the first child, 500,000 KRW for the second child, 1,000,000 KRW for the third child, and 2,000,000 KRW for the fourth child and beyond.
The district revised the "Ordinance on the Provision of Childbirth Support Funds in Dongjak-gu, Seoul" in 2019 and expanded the scope of beneficiaries.
Accordingly, last year, a total of 2083 infants?1,303 first children, 660 second children, and 108 third children?received childbirth support funds totaling 853 million KRW.
Applications for childbirth support funds can be made at the local community service centers in the area of residence.

Additionally, the district is promoting a childbirth encouragement project that supports multi-child insurance for newborns of the third child or more, funded by the district budget for five years.
