[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Joo-hee] Actress Kim Bu-seon appeared at the trial for the 300 million won damages lawsuit she filed against Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, accompanied by lawyer Kang Yong-seok.
According to reports, Kim appeared at the first hearing held on the afternoon of the 21st at the Seoul Eastern District Court in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Regarding her attendance at the trial, Kim stated, "I thought there was no hope. After seeing netizens' comments that civil cases are different from criminal cases, I told lawyer Kang Yong-seok to handle it alone, but then I rushed here."
Kim then addressed Governor Lee, saying, "Mr. Lee Jae-myung, while you act as if you are making all kinds of sacrifices for the people, as the woman who met you first, shouldn't you be the one to comfort my wounds and even send a sack of rice? Isn't that what a man does?" She continued, "You also have two sons, so you should feel ashamed and grateful to my daughter. You should know shame."
Earlier, on September 28, 2018, Kim filed a defamation damages lawsuit against Governor Lee. At the time of the scandal allegations with Governor Lee, Kim claimed that he labeled her as a pathological liar, causing her mental and financial damages.
