Gwangjin-gu Vaccination Center Expands Weekend Operations Starting This Week
Expanded operation every Saturday from April 24, 9 AM to 1 PM... Decided to use weekends for children to help parents with vaccination and speed up the process
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will operate the Gwangjin-gu Vaccination Center on Saturdays to accelerate COVID-19 vaccinations for those aged 75 and older.
This weekend's extended operation is being promoted to enhance convenience for eligible residents, such as when children visit together to assist their parents with vaccination.
Accordingly, the vaccination center, which operated Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., will be extended to operate every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting on the 24th.
The target group is residents aged 75 and older who can visit with family members. When booking weekday vaccinations by district, the desire for weekend vaccination will be checked. However, shuttle buses between the district community centers and the vaccination center will not operate on weekends.
The weekend (Saturday) operation will have 2 doctors and 4 nurses, capable of vaccinating up to 250 people per day.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "Elderly people with mobility difficulties find it hard to visit the vaccination center without family assistance," adding, "Considering this situation, we decided to extend operations to Saturdays so that children can help their parents."
He continued, "With weekend operations, residents can visit the vaccination center more comfortably, and we hope this will help speed up the vaccination process."
