[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Ryoo Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, participated in the low birthrate overcoming relay challenge on the afternoon of the 19th.
The low birthrate overcoming relay challenge is the "Let's Overcome Low Birthrate Together! National Inclusion (4) Relay Challenge" that started in Chungcheongnam-do last February, carrying the meaning of joining in creating a "Korea where we work together, care together, protect together, and are happy together."
It is a citizen participation campaign aimed at overcoming the national crisis caused by low birthrate through solidarity and cooperation.
Ryoo Kyung-gi, who joined the challenge upon the nomination of Lee Dong-kwon, Mayor of Buk-gu, Ulsan Metropolitan City, said, "As the proverb says, it takes a whole village to raise a child. I hope this challenge will help spread a culture of shared parenting," adding, "I will continue to do my best to gather wisdom with many people to make Jungnang a good place to raise children."
Mayor Ryoo nominated Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, and Lee Chang-woo, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, as the next participants.
