LG Electronics Launches 'Used Clothing Recycling Campaign' for Environmental Protection in 7 US Regions
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] LG Electronics announced on the 20th that it will collect used clothing through the 'Second Life' campaign, which recycles used clothing in the United States.
LG Electronics plans to collect used clothing by touring seven cities from Los Angeles starting on the 25th of this month until the 9th of next month. To encourage widespread participation, a clothing exchange event will be held at the collection sites, where participants can exchange their used clothing for new vintage clothing at a vintage fashion store set up at the collection site.
Additionally, LG Electronics has established a laundry center in Los Angeles equipped with washing machines, dryers, and stylers featuring steam functions to clean the collected used clothing before donating them.
LG Electronics prepared this campaign to widely promote the awareness that recycling used clothing helps protect the environment in American communities and to assist organizations in need of clothing. They stated that reducing clothing waste generated in the U.S. will not only help protect the environment but also benefit local communities by donating clothing to organizations in need.
