NHN Transitions Soongsil University Administrative System to Cloud... First Domestic University to Do So
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] NHN announced on the 19th that it has transitioned Soongsil University's information system to the cloud. This is the first case among national universities to migrate the entire academic and administrative system to the cloud.
NHN signed an 'Industry-Academic Cooperation (MOU) in Cloud Computing' with Soongsil University in 2018 and has been promoting the establishment of a cloud-based smart campus and the training of professionals. Last month, NHN completed the migration of 85 servers in operation to the cloud.
The company explained that by migrating SAP and ERP systems, which were previously only accessible through foreign clouds such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft (MS) Azure or internal servers, to a domestic cloud environment, they demonstrated compatibility with global solutions.
According to NHN, Soongsil University became the first domestic university to provide stable information services based on a cloud environment.
