View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] CU announced on the 18th that it will launch a series of plant-based convenience meals (lunch boxes, triangular kimbap, sandwiches) made from purely plant-based ingredients in celebration of Earth Day on the 22nd.
This plant-based convenience meal series is composed of products using meat substitutes so that even those new to vegetarianism can enjoy them without burden. The vegetarian salad bowl lunch box is a salad-type lunch box created in collaboration with the food tech startup Jiguin Company. The meat used in the lunch box is 100% plant-based meat made from grains, characterized by replicating the chewy texture and rich juiciness typical of meat.
The vegetarian soy meat triangular kimbap is a product harmoniously combining soy meat and bulgogi sauce that contains no animal-derived ingredients. The soy meat, made from protein extracted from soybeans, contains no trans fats or cholesterol and is nutritionally excellent due to its high protein content.
The basil pesto tofu sandwich features a soft texture and mild taste with tofu crumble and basil pesto, and adds healthiness by including fresh toppings such as tomato and lettuce inside rye bread. This product uses eco-friendly PLA containers made from plant-based materials to reduce plastic usage.
