According to the Uljin County Council on the 17th, the disciplinary request against Chairman Lee will be addressed at the 246th Uljin County Council extraordinary session plenary meeting held on the 19th. If six or more of the eight seated council members approve, Chairman Lee will immediately lose his council membership.
Chairman Lee was under police investigation for receiving bribes worth approximately 100 million won from a gravel extraction business operator between 2017 and 2019, and was detained on the 10th of last month. It is reported that he continues to deny the related charges.

The Uljin County Council formed an Ethics Special Committee at the extraordinary session held on the 24th of last month, issued a public apology to the citizens, and held six meetings by the 16th to discuss whether to submit the disciplinary case for Chairman Lee’s expulsion.
