Why Did Yeongdeungpo-gu Deliver Encouragement Cards and Kits to Residents Overcoming COVID-19?
Non-contact delivery of encouragement cards and kits with support messages for COVID-19 recoverees... Includes hand sanitizer and masks to promote infection prevention and containment... Completed in 3 phases, total 202 recipients... Ongoing until the end of the pandemic
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) announced that it is delivering encouragement cards and kits to residents who have overcome difficult times after testing positive for COVID-19 as a token of gratitude.
This is intended to support and comfort residents who had to endure not only physical pain but also mental stress due to COVID-19 infection during the unprecedented pandemic situation.
To prevent damage caused by excessive personal information leakage simply due to being infected with COVID-19, the district has minimized the disclosure of personal information to avoid digital stigmatization cases.
Additionally, by maintaining a professional disinfection system and adhering to the principle of "disinfection on the day of occurrence," efforts are being made to block chain transmission for residents who might feel anxious due to lack of information disclosure.
Nevertheless, to somewhat comfort the hearts of residents who have gone through difficult times due to COVID-19 and have been discharged, the district prepared encouragement cards and kits to be delivered to those who have recovered.
The encouragement cards convey gratitude to residents who overcame difficult times and include a message promising to do their best to protect the precious daily life and happiness regained.
The kit consists of two hand sanitizers and 20 masks, symbolizing a request to continue efforts to prevent infection and participate in blocking the spread of infectious diseases even after recovery.
The distribution of encouragement cards and kits began in December last year. First, the intention to receive is confirmed by phone, and only residents who agree to receive them are delivered the items. Staff from the local community center deliver them to homes in a non-face-to-face manner.
In the first phase, 26 people, second phase 63 people, and third phase 113 people have received the items, totaling 202 residents so far. The district plans to continue this until the COVID-19 situation ends, conveying support to residents.
