[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter]Kim Nam-guk, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated, "We will establish a legal basis to ensure that veterans who have completed their military service receive proper treatment."
On the 15th, through Facebook, Representative Kim emphasized, "We will create a legal basis through amendments to the National Public Service Act, etc., so that professional experience gained in the military can be recognized during local government recruitment nationwide."
Kim said, "A young job seeker in Ansan sent a message saying 'public institutions do not recognize military experience,'" adding, "This is not about requesting additional military service points. It is hard to understand why professional experience and expertise gained in the military are not recognized." He pointed out, "This is not only a problem for men. It also applies to female soldiers who served as non-commissioned officers and were discharged," and said, "If our society cannot even do this for those who have dedicated themselves to the country, we should be ashamed."
