German medical personnel were dispatched for about five years from April 1954 to March 1959, treating approximately 300,000 patients. However, they did not receive much attention because their support occurred after the armistice agreement in July 1953. In June 2018, Germany was newly designated as a medical support country. Accordingly, the existing five medical support countries?India, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Italy?have increased to six, and the total number of United Nations countries participating in the war, including combat support countries, has reached 22.
