Sangju-si and Mungyeong-si Joint Inspection of 'Livestock Manure Discharge Facilities' by Gyeongbuk Province and Environmental Agency
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Sangju City announced on the 15th that it will conduct intensive joint inspections on 30 livestock manure discharge facilities by the end of this month in cooperation with Gyeongsangbuk-do, Daegu Regional Environmental Office, and Mungyeong City.
The main inspection items include compliance with management standards such as the act of stockpiling or abandoning livestock manure and compost or discharging them into rivers, violations of permits and approvals, and failure to inspect compost maturity. Strong administrative and judicial actions will be taken against violating farms.
In particular, last month, three people were reported to judicial authorities, three corrective orders were issued, and five fines totaling 4.2 million won were imposed on farms, transporters, and processors who illegally dumped or buried livestock manure compost, including livestock carcasses, without complying with composting standards in the area.
