New Merged Corporation Launches on July 1
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kakao has acquired the fashion platform 'Zigzag.'
On the 14th, Kakao announced that it will merge the style business division of Kakao Commerce, which operates 'Kakao Style,' through a spin-off with Croquis.com, the operator of Zigzag.
Zigzag is a mobile service that aggregates over 4,000 online shopping malls and fashion brands, and it is expected to reach an annual transaction volume of 1 trillion won this year.
The merged corporation, launching on July 1, will become a subsidiary of Kakao. The CEO will be Seo Jeong-hoon, CEO of Croquis.com.
The merged corporation plans to establish a business foundation by combining Zigzag's big data in the fashion sector with Kakao's technological capabilities and business expertise, and will seek new business opportunities.
Jae-hyun Bae, Senior Vice President (CIO) of Kakao, stated, "Zigzag has proven high growth potential and competitiveness as a fashion commerce platform centered on the MZ generation. We expect it to expand its business to Asian regions such as Japan and China and become a global fashion platform through synergy with Kakao's global content and fandom influence."
