Reopening of Chaegideun Street Small Library and Opening of Smart Library Branch 2 on the 13th... Utilizing Geumcheon Overpass Underpass Space at Doksan Station Exit 2... Reading Room, Exhibition Space, Multipurpose Space, Rest Area, and Smart Library Provided
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) held a reopening ceremony for the Chaegideun Street Small Library and the opening ceremony for the 2nd Smart Library branch on the afternoon of the 13th at the Geumcheon Overpass Underpass in front of Exit 2 of Doksan Station.
The event was attended by a small number of people including Mayor Yu Seong-hoon, members of the National Assembly, district council members, officials from the Seoul Urban Space Improvement Team, and local residents. The program proceeded in the order of poetry reading, opening and national anthem, introduction of guests, progress report, greetings, unveiling ceremony and commemorative photo, and facility tour.
The Chaegideun Street Small Library was selected as a target site for the Seoul City Overpass Underpass Space Utilization Project in 2017, and remodeling construction began in July last year and was completed in December.
The small library, built on the 1st and 2nd floors above ground, consists of a reading room, exhibition space, multipurpose space for residents, community space, and a resting area.
Additionally, the district prepared the 2nd Smart Library branch next to the small library so that residents can easily borrow books anytime.
