145 New COVID-19 Cases in Seoul as of 6 PM on the 12th

Among the new confirmed cases in Seoul until 6:00 PM on the 12th, 2 were imported cases from overseas, and the remaining 143 were classified as domestic infections. Among the separately counted cluster infections, there were 9 cases at an indoor sports facility in Gwangjin-gu, 2 cases each at indoor sports facilities in Seocho-gu and Yangcheon-gu, 2 cases at Jungnang Police Station in Jungnang-gu, 1 case each at a music academy in Jungnang-gu and a Korean medicine hospital in Dobong-gu, and 8 other cluster infection cases newly reported.
Among the new cases not classified as cluster infections, there were 67 cases from contact with other confirmed patients, 11 cases from contact with confirmed patients in other cities and provinces, and 40 cases with infection routes under investigation. Since the end of last month, the daily number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Seoul has been increasing rapidly. The daily new confirmed cases in Seoul rose to 199 on the 31st of last month and exceeded 200 for four consecutive days starting from the 7th of this month. The new cases on the 11th were 162, which is interpreted as due to a decrease in the number of tests during the weekend period.
