Samsung Electronics Wins Record 71 Awards at the iF Design Award
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Samsung Electronics has been honored with a total of 71 awards, including two Gold Awards, at Germany's international design competition 'iF Design Award 2021.'
On the 12th, Samsung Electronics announced that it received 36 awards in the product category, 11 in communication, 10 in concept, 9 in service design·UX·UI, and 5 in packaging, including the Gold Awards-winning 'Bespoke Cube Air' and 'Bespoke City Color.'
The iF Design Award, established in 1953 by the German International Forum, comprehensively evaluates design distinctiveness and impact across nine categories: product, packaging, communication, concept, interior, architecture, service design, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI).

The Gold Award-winning 'Bespoke Cube Air' is an air purifier with a selectable front design, featuring differentiated wind-free purification capabilities and interchangeable panels with patterns such as herringbone and stripes.
The 'Bespoke City Color,' inspired by colors from major cities like Seoul, Berlin, and Stockholm, also won a Gold Award, allowing users to choose desired colors for refrigerators, induction cooktops, ovens, and more.
The Bespoke concept, which tailors to users' lifestyles and preferences, has expanded from refrigerators to various home appliances. 'Bespoke Home' products enable the creation of unified yet personalized living spaces.

Samsung Electronics set a record for the most awards ever with a total of 71 at this year's 'iF Design Award,' receiving recognition across all fields including TVs, home appliances, and smartphones.
In the product category, awards were given to ▲'QLED 8K' with Infinity Design that minimizes TV bezels to maximize immersion ▲'The Premiere,' a premium home projector applying triple laser and ultra-short throw technology ▲'Grande AI Washer and Dryer,' which can be installed in series, parallel, or separately depending on space ▲and foldable smartphones 'Galaxy Z Fold2' and 'Galaxy Z Flip,' offering innovative user experiences unique to foldables.
Outside of product categories, designs considering accessibility and the environment were awarded, including ▲'Grande AI UX,' which applies braille labels and sound design for the visually impaired with smart and easy usability ▲and TV eco-packaging incorporating the concept of upcycling.
