"Can You Catch Me?" Unlicensed Reckless Driving and Mocking Police, 20s Arrested
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] A man in his 20s who drove recklessly without a license and even mocked the police by calling them was caught by the police.
On the 12th, the Suwon Southern Police Station in Gyeonggi announced that they have apprehended and are investigating A (20) on charges including unlicensed driving under the Road Traffic Act.
A is suspected of driving an acquaintance's SUV without a license for about three hours from Seocho-gu, Seoul, through Hwaseong City, to Suwon City around 11:30 PM on the 21st of last month.
During this time, A is also accused of reckless driving, such as crossing the center line and speeding, having driven at least 50 km.
It is also known that A repeatedly contacted 112 while driving, mocking the police by saying, "Do you think you can catch me?"
The police responded to a report that "an acquaintance is driving without a license," and after a chase of about 5 km, apprehended A around 2:40 AM the next day on a road in Ingye-dong, Suwon City.
In the police investigation, A stated, "I contacted the police to confuse them during the chase."

A police official said, "It appears that A drove without a license to return to Hwaseong City after meeting with acquaintances," adding, "We plan to apply for an arrest warrant soon."
