Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Supports Labor Costs for Digital Workforce Hiring in Small Businesses
'Marine Fisheries Venture Startup Job Support Project' Promotion... 90% Wage Support
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced on the 12th that it will promote the 'Marine and Fisheries Venture Startup Job Support Project' starting in April to support the recruitment of digital personnel in marine and fisheries companies.
Although the importance of online distribution networks has greatly increased due to COVID-19, some small local companies are struggling to utilize online distribution channels. To enhance the digital capabilities of small businesses, participating companies in this project will employ digital personnel for six months and receive 90% support for labor costs (2.02 million KRW per month) during that period.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has set a goal to create 60 new jobs nationwide through this project. In particular, the recruitment targets are set for youth under the age of 39 and women, which is expected to contribute to creating youth jobs in the regions.
The Ministry conducted a demand survey targeting local governments nationwide, then selected seven regions?Busan, Gangwon, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, Gyeongbuk, and Jeju?as project target areas and designated regional project executing agencies. Each regional executing agency will conduct a public recruitment according to individual schedules this month to select companies and youth who wish to participate and connect them.
