Largest Capital Industry Scale with Cumulative Issuance Amount of 750 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Shinhan Capital announced on the 12th that it issued ESG bonds (sustainability bonds) worth 350 billion KRW on the 8th.
ESG bonds are special-purpose bonds emphasizing public interest in environment, society, and governance. Companies utilize ESG bonds in business areas based on public interest according to the purpose of issuance.
Shinhan Financial Group is leading ESG management and has established "FINANCE for IMPACT" as the principle of ESG, promoting sustainable management under three strategic directions: eco-friendliness, mutual growth, and trust.
In line with the Group's ESG management strategy, Shinhan Capital plans to use the funds raised from the bonds issued this time for purposes such as supplying affordable housing, renewable energy projects, startups, and social enterprises.
