Sejong-si, Forestry Voucher Program... Up to 1 Million KRW Support for Forest Households
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City announced on the 9th that it will promote the ‘Forestry Voucher Project’ for local forestry workers.
The project is divided into the ‘COVID-19 Overcome Forest Support Voucher’ and the ‘Temporary Management Support Voucher for Small-scale Forestry Households’.
The COVID-19 Overcome Forest Support Voucher is a project that directly supports forestry households experiencing management difficulties due to decreased sales or restricted sales channels caused by COVID-19, providing 1 million KRW per household.
The target beneficiaries are business owners of agricultural management entities (registration with the Korea Forest Service is mandatory) producing forest products such as mushrooms, wild vegetables, and medicinal herbs.
The Temporary Management Support Voucher for Small-scale Forestry Households is implemented to alleviate management instability of small-scale vulnerable forestry households affected by COVID-19, with support amounting to 300,000 KRW per household.
The support targets business owners of agricultural management entities cultivating short-term income forest products on forest land areas between 300㎡ and less than 5,000㎡.
Both projects are limited to forestry workers residing in Sejong. The application period is from the 12th to the 30th, and voucher issuance is scheduled to begin on the 17th of next month. However, vouchers will be issued based on submission priority within the budget range, and the usage period is until the end of August from the date of issuance.
