At the 교추협 meeting that day, Minister of Unification Lee In-young said in his opening remarks, "The situation on the Korean Peninsula is entering a new phase," and added, "At a time when the U.S. North Korea policy is coming to an end, North Korea is also moving away from its previous wait-and-see stance and starting to explore the situation."
