hy, Launch of Two Premium Meal Kits with Chinese Restaurant 'Chai797'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] hy (formerly Korea Yakult) announced on the 8th that it will launch two types of meal kits in collaboration with ‘Chai797’.
‘Chai797’ is a premium Chinese restaurant brand with over 30 stores nationwide. Under the philosophy that ‘medicine and food share the same origin,’ it offers healthy Chinese cuisine that brings out the natural flavors of the ingredients.
This collaboration was planned to soothe customers’ disappointment due to difficulties dining out caused by COVID-19 and to provide the joy of cooking popular dishes from a famous restaurant at home.
The newly introduced ‘Chai797’ meal kits include ▲It’s On Namja Jjajang and ▲It’s On Seafood Nurungji Soup. Both are actual menu items sold at the restaurant, with ‘Namja Jjajang’ being Chai797’s signature dish.
From the initial development of the meal kits, Chai797’s exclusive chefs participated and conducted over a hundred blind tests. For ‘It’s On Namja Jjajang,’ special attention was paid to sourcing raw materials to achieve a rich harmony of pork and garlic flavors. The ‘It’s On Seafood Nurungji Soup’ took a lot of time to find the perfect golden ratio for its unique deep taste and texture.
Hwang Kyuhwan, head of the hy Multi-CM team, said, “‘It’s On’ meal kits have contributed to market expansion through various collaborations ranging from young chefs to star chefs, hotels, and crowdfunding platforms since their launch. We are confident that the two ‘Chai797’ meal kits, developed with great care over a long period, will receive great love from customers.”
