According to the Central Election Management Committee's election statistics system, at this time, Oh Se-hoon, the candidate from the People Power Party, received 56.53%, and Park Young-sun, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, received 40.42%. Out of 612,056 votes counted, Oh received 343,758 votes, and Park received 245,822 votes.
Exit polls from the three major broadcasters (KBS, MBC, SBS) predicted a landslide victory for candidate Oh.
On this day, the three broadcasters announced the results of the Seoul mayoral by-election exit poll conducted by KEP (Korea Election Pool), an organization under the Korea Broadcasting Association. The poll was conducted by three research institutions: Ipsos, Korea Research International, and Hankook Research.
In the exit polls by the three broadcasters, candidate Oh received 59.0% of the vote, winning against candidate Park, who received 37.7%.
