View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 7th that Deputy Governor Choi Young-ho recently undertook facility improvements and inspections to ensure no inconvenience for users of the Seochul Dongryu Waterway Walking Course, which was recommended as one of the 16 safe non-face-to-face tourist destinations in Gyeongnam.
The 'Seochul Dongryu Waterway Hiking Trail' was created in 2019, establishing a 3km hiking trail from Sansugyo in Buksang-myeon to Wolseong Forest. Last year, an additional 3km section was added from Wolseong Forest to Hwangjeom Village, making a total of 6km. It has become a representative premium hiking trail in Geochang, attracting many visitors.
Visitors can enjoy the cool valley water along with the forest and valley, experiencing the beautiful scenery of all four seasons. It has become a healing spot that relieves fatigue and depression caused by COVID-19, drawing admiration from tourists.

While inspecting Susungdae Tourist Site in Wicheon-myeon, a representative tourist destination of our county, Deputy Governor Choi said, “It is necessary to establish a long-term plan for supplementing the aging facilities that have deteriorated over more than 30 years since the site was designated as a tourist attraction and for the rebirth of new tourist sites.” He also urged, “Please do your best to improve the facilities so that the Geochang International Theater Festival can proceed smoothly.”
