Accordingly, the city plans to invest a total project cost of 3.9 billion KRW, including 2.3 billion KRW in national funds, to promote a green remodeling project for 150 households in Seonhak Siyoung (completed in 1993) and Yeonsu Siyoung (completed in 1992) apartments.
Green remodeling is a project that improves energy performance and living environments by enhancing insulation, airtightness, and facilities of existing buildings whose energy efficiency has deteriorated due to aging. It is essential to achieve Incheon City's 2030 greenhouse gas reduction target of 32.6% (building sector).
The city plans to improve customized floor plans for vulnerable residents such as single-person households, the elderly, and the disabled, aiming to reduce existing energy consumption by at least 30%. Furthermore, it plans to conduct energy welfare projects for low-income households for more than 150 households annually going forward.
Green remodeling includes improvements such as upgrading windows and entrance doors, installing inner doors, water-saving faucets, and replacing with high-efficiency LEDs to increase energy efficiency and reduce consumption. Along with this, indoor spaces will be improved through storage installations and decorated as comfortable eco-friendly spaces using environmentally friendly interior materials.
The Incheon Urban Corporation will take charge of the project, starting design in June and planning to complete construction by December.
