View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lotte announced on the 7th that it will completely change its proprietary aptitude test L-TAB, used in the recruitment process, after nine years since its introduction. The main change is shifting from solving mainly multiple-choice questions to solving various tasks.
According to the Lotte Human Resources Development Institute, L-TAB will be changed to a method where candidates solve various tasks that can be experienced in actual work situations. Information necessary for problem-solving will be provided through emails, reports, messengers, and so on. This diagnostic method is the first of its kind among domestic and international aptitude tests.
Additionally, considering candidate convenience and the COVID-19 situation, the entire L-TAB process will be changed from offline to online diagnosis. Candidates will install the diagnostic program after prior identity verification, and supervisors will monitor the test online via video.
The revamped L-TAB will be applied first to seven affiliates, including Lotte Rental, Lotte Food, and Lotte Chemical, which have been conducting recruitment since March, and will be expanded according to each affiliate’s schedule from mid-April. The L-TAB pass results will be valid for the half-year period of the corresponding year.
Lotte stated, “We are changing the recruitment method in line with the direction of quickly securing talent suitable for the job at the necessary time and recruiting in a fair and safe way. We will operate the recruitment process more fairly and precisely to secure excellent talent responsible for the group’s future competitiveness.”
