Mexico City authorities announced on the 4th (local time) that they arrested the daughter and son-in-law of the 85-year-old grandmother after receiving an abuse report at a vaccination center set up in a school in the Iztapalapa area.
The note stated that the daughter and son-in-law had been confining her for a year and not allowing her to go outside, asking to be let out. According to city authorities, the elderly woman also claimed that she was being humiliated in a miserable environment.
The nurse who received the note immediately handed it over to the police guarding the vaccination center, and the police arrested the 39-year-old daughter and 59-year-old son-in-law identified by the elderly woman on the spot and are investigating the abuse allegations.
