Suncheon City Library Selected for the 'Humanities on the Road' Public Project Competition
Samsan, Yeonhyang, and Shindae Libraries Conduct Citizen Book Writing Related Programs
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City Libraries' three branches (Samsan Library, Yeonhyang Library, Shindae Library) announced on the 6th that they have been selected for the "Humanities on the Road" public contest hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korean Library Association.
"Humanities on the Road" is a project aimed at enabling local residents to enjoy the humanities, reflect on themselves and history, and pursue happiness in life, thereby promoting the normalization and daily practice of the humanities. The city libraries have been selected annually through the contest and have been carrying out the project.
This year, it is even more meaningful as the three libraries?Samsan, Yeonhyang, and Shindae?have been selected.
The city is focusing on a citizen book-writing project this year, so this year's "Humanities on the Road" will be linked to the book-writing project and conducted as an advanced course (reading and writing together) type, where participants write through lectures and publish their work as books.
Samsan Library will conduct a 20-session program starting from the 7th of next month under the theme
Yeonhyang Library will operate a 20-session program starting from the 15th of next month under the theme
Shindae Library will run a program starting from the 14th of next month under the theme
