Silla University Promotes the '4th Industrial Revolution' in Indonesia... Operating Smart Factory and Big Data Tracks
Agreement on 'Indonesia Tangerang 4th Industrial Revolution Workforce Development Project' with KOICA
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Silla University is exporting the '4th Industrial Revolution' to Indonesia.
Silla University (President Kim Chung-seok) announced on the 6th that it signed a business agreement with KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) on March 31 to promote the 'Indonesia Tangerang 4th Industrial Revolution Technology Specialist Training Project.'
This agreement is KOICA's 'Civil Society Cooperation Project' aimed at contributing to the sustainable development and poverty alleviation of partner countries.
It establishes a cooperative system with private partners such as civic groups, companies, and universities, and carries out international development cooperation projects by utilizing private expertise in human resources, intellectual assets, and technology.
The project will be conducted over three years until the end of December 2023, with a budget of approximately 900 million KRW.
Silla University will establish a 4th Industrial Revolution Technology Specialist Education Center within UMN University in Indonesia. It will operate smart factory and cloud/big data tracks to train specialists in 4th Industrial Revolution technologies in the Tangerang region.
The personnel trained at the education center are expected to advance into Indonesia's 4th Industrial Revolution technology specialist fields and local Korean companies' automotive and information and communication technology sectors.
Silla University plans for this project to cultivate key personnel in Indonesia's automotive and ICT sectors and contribute to the development of the 4th Industrial Revolution technology field.
Silla University and KOICA will jointly carry out this project, including ▲establishing the 4th Industrial Revolution Technology Specialist Education Center ▲developing curricula and teaching materials ▲installing living labs and conducting specialized education for smart factory/cloud and big data tracks ▲holding forums to secure 4th Industrial Revolution technology specialists ▲hosting job fairs and industrial site visits for 4th Industrial Revolution technology specialists, among various activities.

Kim Sung-soo, Dean of the MICT Convergence Engineering College at Silla University, who will lead the project, said, "I hope this project will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen the 'Special Strategic Partnership' between Korea and Indonesia," adding, "We will strive to create a practical collaboration case where recipient and donor countries can coexist, as KOICA aims, and contribute to the development of Indonesia's 4th Industrial Revolution technology sector."
