Yangcheon-gu Provides 200,000 KRW per Worker at Elderly Care and Disability Welfare Facilities
Four Categories Including Small Business Owners, Vulnerable Groups, Affected Industries, and Essential Workers... Thorough Coverage of Government Support Funds Totaling Approximately 19.5 Billion Won, Including Blind Spots
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will provide a total of approximately 19.5 billion KRW in support to help vulnerable groups who have been further affected by COVID-19.
The district plans to carefully examine the blind spots excluded from the government's 4th disaster relief fund and provide support divided into 17 detailed projects across four areas: ▲support for small business owners ▲support for vulnerable groups ▲support for affected industries ▲support for essential workers.
As a support measure for small business owners, separate from the government's 4th disaster relief fund, Yangcheon-gu will provide the ‘Seoul Economy Vitality Fund’ of 600,000 KRW to a maximum of 1.5 million KRW per business to 10,450 small business owners in industries subject to gathering bans and restrictions.
For 1,920 businesses that have closed due to gathering bans and business restrictions, 500,000 KRW per person will be paid, and for 1,000 small business owners, interest-free loans with a 0.5% guarantee fee and a one-year grace period will be supported up to a limit of 20 million KRW.
Additionally, 6,800 unemployed youth aged 19 to 34 who graduated within the last two years will receive 500,000 KRW each as a ‘Unemployed Youth Employment Incentive’ paid in Yangcheon Love Gift Certificates, and approximately 22,000 low-income vulnerable individuals, including basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups, will receive 100,000 KRW each as living support funds.
In particular, about 1,200 artists with household incomes below 120% of the median income, who have been hit hard by COVID-19, will receive 1 million KRW each, and about 1,800 transportation workers including corporate taxi, village bus, charter bus, and airport bus drivers will receive 500,000 KRW each.
As a support measure for blind spot industries affected by the disaster, 40 unregistered businesses (such as PC rooms and indoor sports facilities) that complied with gathering bans and restrictions, and about 320 rented religious facilities in the area will be provided with quarantine supplies worth 500,000 KRW.
Also, about 180 tourism and MICE small business owners will receive 2 million KRW per business, and three village bus companies will each receive 10 million KRW in damage support funds.
As a support measure for essential workers responding to COVID-19, 1,015 workers at elderly care facilities, disability welfare facilities, and homeless shelters will receive 200,000 KRW each, and 122 sanitation workers employed by cleaning agencies will receive quarantine supplies worth 200,000 KRW.
