Assemblyman Kim Seung-nam Secures Project Funds for Drainage Improvement Projects in Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Congressman Kim Seung-nam (Democratic Party, Goheung·Boseong·Jangheung·Gangjin) announced on the 5th that he secured 134.8 billion KRW in project funds for drainage improvement projects, multipurpose rural water development projects, and irrigation facility repair projects to ensure stable agricultural water supply in the Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin areas of Jeonnam.
The newly selected districts for this year's drainage improvement projects include ▲Shinyang District in Dodeok-myeon, Goheung (total project cost 19.1 billion KRW) and ▲Ansim District in Deukryang-myeon, Boseong (10.5 billion KRW), while the districts selected for basic investigation include ▲Gangsan District in Jeomam-myeon, Goheung (5.9 billion KRW) and ▲Gahak District in Daedeok-eup, Jangheung (16 billion KRW). These areas are habitual flood damage zones in farmland where continuous complaints from local residents have occurred.
This project is expected to contribute to improving the farming environment.
The newly selected district for the multipurpose rural water development project is ▲Sanggeum District in Yongsan-myeon, Jangheung (total project cost 32.4 billion KRW).
This area has been a habitual drought damage zone in farmland, where conflicts among residents due to disputes over water rights and agricultural water shortages have been severe every year.
With the selection for this multipurpose rural water development project, stable water supply to farmland is expected to be possible.
For the irrigation facility repair projects, the newly selected districts for this year include ▲Samheung District in Chillyang-myeon, Gangjin (total project cost 4.9 billion KRW), Seonggang District in Seongjeon-myeon (4 billion KRW), ▲Namseong District in Podu-myeon, Goheung (5.3 billion KRW), ▲Beolgyo District in Beolgyo-eup, Boseong (4 billion KRW), and ▲Eoyang District (4.1 billion KRW), Seongnong District (5.4 billion KRW) in Gwansan-eup, and Anyang District in Anang-myeon, Jangheung (4 billion KRW).
Additionally, ▲Gangnam District in Gundong-myeon, Gangjin (17 billion KRW secured this year), ▲Geumsa District in Podu-myeon, Goheung (1.5 billion KRW), Yeonbong District in Jeomam-myeon (800 million KRW), and ▲Moryeong District in Anyang-myeon, Jangheung (1.5 billion KRW) are nearing completion this year.
For ongoing projects, additional budgets were secured this year for ▲Imcheon District (1.4 billion KRW) and Gangsin District (1.2 billion KRW) in Gangjin-eup, Gangjin, ▲Bongam District (1.3 billion KRW) in Dodeok-myeon and Dohwa District (1 billion KRW) in Dohwa-myeon, Goheung, ▲Childong District (1.9 billion KRW) in Beolgyo-eup, Boseong, Jungsumun District (1.8 billion KRW) in Joseong-myeon, No. 2 Intake Weir District (1.4 billion KRW) and Deukryang District (1.3 billion KRW) in Deukryang-myeon, Boseong, and ▲Yeondong District (1.4 billion KRW) in Daedeok-eup and Gwansan District (1 billion KRW) in Gwansan-eup, Jangheung.
