Songpa Dullegil Various Locations 'Cherry Blossom' Themed Participatory Exhibition
Until the 11th, 'Cherry Blossom' Themed Participatory Exhibitions Held Throughout Songpa Dullegil... Cherry Blossom Exhibitions · Public Art Projects · Photo Zones and More Spring Programs
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Seongsoo Park) will hold a 'Spring Exhibition' along the Songpa Dullegil trail to safely enjoy cherry blossoms while complying with quarantine guidelines.
Songpa Dullegil is a circular ecological walking trail connecting four streams (Seongnaecheon, Jangjicheon, Tancheon, Han River) flowing along the outskirts of Songpa-gu.
It is a 21 km circular walking tourism course where nature, waterfront spaces, and streams harmonize, and it is a popular walking route among Songpa residents.
To help residents suffering from depression and lethargy due to COVID-19, various exhibitions and experiential programs have been prepared throughout Songpa Dullegil so that cultural and artistic activities can be enjoyed in daily life.
This Songpa Dullegil Spring Exhibition is part of the ‘Songpa Online Cherry Blossom Walk,’ an alternative event to the Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival, and will run until April 11.
First, through the Songpa Dullegil ‘Cherry Blossom Exhibition,’ visitors can enjoy a new spring flower path. Two hundred works by the Songpa Artists Association, Photographers Association, Calligraphy Association, and Writers Association will be displayed at the Seongnaecheon Mulbit Plaza.
Also, an interactive exhibition has been prepared at Seongnaecheon Mulbit Plaza along Songpa Dullegil. The ‘Cherry Blossom Wish Tree’ is an installation where citizens write wishes on cherry blossom petals, and the ‘Citizen Participation Public Art Project’ is an experiential program where residents directly paint on a large canvas shaped like Songpa Dullegil, completing the Songpa Dullegil that residents dream of.
Additionally, a scenic lighting path that beautifully illuminates the nights of Songpa Dullegil has been prepared. ‘Scenic lighting’ and ‘photo zones’ have been installed at Jangjicheon, Jamsilnaru, and Seongnaecheon Mulbit Plaza to add memories to spring days.
Furthermore, six sculptures titled ‘Four-legged Beasts for the City’ by sculptor Youngcheol Jo are exhibited in the stream at Seongnaecheon Mulbit Plaza, enhancing the natural scenery within the city.
This exhibition can be enjoyed throughout the month of April.
