Hanse Dream and Hanse MK held a clothing delivery ceremony at the Hi Seoul Youth Hostel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, promising to support clothing so that child soldiers suffering in harsh environments can wear clean clothes and dream. Attending the ceremony were Lim Dong-hwan, CEO of Hanse Dream; Lim Heung-se, Vice Chairman of the South Sudan Olympic Committee (SSOC); Moon Yong-rin, Chairman of the Korea Youth Organizations Council; and Lim Ho-young, President of the Korea Youth Federation.
The donated goods sponsored through this delivery ceremony will be sent to South Sudan, Africa, next month via the Korea Youth Organizations Council and the Korea Youth Federation. Upon arrival, Vice Chairman Lim Heung-se and the South Sudan government will receive the products and plan to distribute them to government departments and local governments.
This clothing sponsorship will also include a special campaign. It is a campaign that exchanges military uniforms worn by South Sudanese child soldiers for sportswear and sneakers. Although the civil war ended in 2018 through an agreement between government forces and rebel forces, small and large-scale battles still occur in some areas. Children aged 8 to 18 are being conscripted to the battlefield.
Hanse Dream and Hanse MK planned this donation to deliver warm hope to child soldiers who have grown up wearing military uniforms since childhood. The donated items consist of popular global sports brand products such as Nike, Converse, Air Jordan from Hanse Dream’s Play Kids Pro, and NBA Kids from Hanse MK.
Hanse Dream has continued official clothing sponsorships for children in various countries such as the Philippines and Africa six times. Last year, they sponsored clothing worth 1.5 billion KRW to Laos, striving to fulfill social responsibility. Hanse Dream and Hanse MK plan to continue clothing sponsorships to help those in need worldwide in cooperation with the Korea Youth Organizations Council and the Korea Youth Federation.
Kim Ji-won, CEO of Hanse Dream and Hanse MK, said, “We wanted to deliver warm hope to child soldiers who grew up in harsh environments, so we united our intentions for this sponsorship,” adding, “We hope that child soldiers, who were accustomed to battlefields and military uniforms, can now wear new clothes and live a life where they can pursue their dreams.”
