Gyeonggi-do Supports Drone Companies with 'Performance Testing and Testbed Costs'
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province will support drone performance testing and test flight testbed costs starting in April. However, this support is available only until the budget is exhausted.
According to the province on the 5th, the 'drone performance testing cost' will be supported on a first-come, first-served basis up to a maximum of 4 million KRW per company. This applies to drone SMEs within the province that intend to conduct performance tests on drones they have developed or modified themselves.
Testing can be conducted at the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), selecting from test items based on Korean Standards (KS) such as KS W 9001, 9131, 9132, as well as international standards (ISO, IEC, ASTM, etc.).
The 'drone test flight testbed cost' will be supported up to 5 million KRW per company and is available to drone-related SMEs within the province that wish to conduct test flight testing.
The testbed location is Korea Polytechnic University's 2nd Campus (65 MTV Book-ro, Siheung-si), and if companies arrange other locations themselves, support will be provided within the costs related to testing such as facility rental fees, equipment costs, and external labor costs.
