Installed in the former General Administrative Town Planning Exhibition Hall with an area of 1150㎡, vaccinations for residents aged 75 and over start from the 15th
...Expanded to general residents aged 18 and over in the second half of the year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Yongsan-gu (District Mayor Seong Chang-hyun) has completed the installation of the COVID-19 vaccination center (hereafter referred to as the center) and will begin vaccinations starting on the 15th.
This is in accordance with Article 25 (Temporary Vaccination) of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act.
The center is located at the Yongsan-gu Comprehensive Administrative Town Art Hall Planning Exhibition Room (150 Noksapyeong-daero) and covers an area of 1,150㎡. It is divided into spaces for filling out preliminary examination forms (waiting area), computer verification, preliminary examination and vaccination, and adverse reaction monitoring.
The center operates on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with actual vaccination hours from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. No vaccinations are conducted during lunch break (12:00 PM to 1:00 PM).
The operating staff consists of 42 people: 4 doctors, 8 nurses, and 30 administrative support personnel working in shifts.
The vaccination targets are Yongsan-gu residents who consent to vaccination. Following government policy, residents aged 75 and older (17,907 people) will be vaccinated first, followed by all residents aged 18 and older in the second half of the year.
The daily vaccination capacity is 600 people.
A district official stated, “Our goal is to vaccinate more than 70% (143,500 people) of the 200,000 residents aged 18 and older,” and added, “We hope for active interest and participation from the residents.”
Residents aged 75 and older, who are prioritized for vaccination, should visit the center on their designated dates. The schedule will be announced soon. The district will provide transportation vehicles.
The center entrance is located on the west side road of the district’s Comprehensive Administrative Town. After hand sanitization and temperature checks, visitors enter, fill out the preliminary examination form, and receive the preliminary examination and vaccination in order of waiting.
After vaccination, individuals must wait for 15 to 30 minutes. In case of adverse reactions, they will be moved to the intensive observation room and, if necessary, transferred to a designated hospital (Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital).
Before the official vaccination begins, a simulation training will be conducted on the 6th. Four evaluators, including Seoul city officials, external experts, and officials from other local governments, will attend to observe procedures such as waiting, preliminary examination, vaccination, and monitoring of vaccine recipients.
Additionally, a dedicated call center will be established before the center opens to facilitate smooth vaccination-related guidance and complaint reception. A civil service guidance robot capable of checking visitors’ temperatures will also be deployed on site.
