[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is attracting attention as its newly launched ‘Five Senses Satisfaction Baby Food Challenge Event’ is receiving positive responses for providing correct baby food information to caregivers of infants under 12 months.
As COVID-19 prolongs and social distancing continues, the importance of practicing healthy eating habits at home is emerging. In this context, Seongbuk-gu Public Health Center shares five easy and nutritious baby food recipes using household ingredients and provides caregivers of infants with non-face-to-face educational materials.
Residents who wish to participate in the event must enter the open chat room by scanning the QR code presented in the promotional materials or by searching ‘Five Senses Satisfaction Baby Food Challenge Event’ on KakaoTalk.
Among the five step-by-step baby food recipes suggested by the health center, participants prepare baby food at home using the recipe suitable for their child and prepare a photo of the completed dish.
To verify participation, they must write and send the completed baby food certification photo, the recipe name, and their impressions and suggestions in the open chat room.
The recipes provided were selected to use commonly used baby food ingredients such as beef, spinach, carrot, and seaweed, reducing the burden of ingredient preparation.
Additionally, participants receive materials containing various information about baby food, including the necessity of baby food, step-by-step food introduction by age, and precautions regarding infants’ eating behaviors. Through consultations as needed, the program aims to enhance caregivers’ nutritional capabilities to support infants’ growth and development.
Any Seongbuk-gu resident caring for an infant under 12 months can participate. During the event period from April 1 to April 15, participants will receive event prizes on a first-come, first-served basis, and additional prizes will be awarded based on the number of recipe certifications.
For more details, please check the announcements on the Seongbuk-gu Office and Seongbuk-gu Public Health Center websites.
