View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Kwon Chilseung, Minister of SMEs and Startups, canceled all schedules after it was confirmed that he had contact with an employee who tested positive for COVID-19.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 2nd that Minister Kwon received a business report for about five minutes from the employee who tested positive for COVID-19 on the morning of the previous day.
The employee was confirmed positive late in the afternoon of the previous day. Accordingly, Minister Kwon canceled all scheduled events until the 4th.
According to the Ministry, both Minister Kwon and the employee were confirmed to have been wearing masks during the business report.
Minister Kwon is currently undergoing testing at a COVID-19 testing center in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, where his residence is located, and is waiting at home.
The Ministry plans to close the 13th floor of Building 1 at the Daejeon Government Complex, where the infected employee works, and disinfect the entire Building 1. Additionally, all employees on the 13th floor will work from home.
