Junggi Distribution Center Launches 'Subscription Economy Platform for Small Business Owners'
[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Small and Medium Business Distribution Center announced on the 2nd that it will establish a 'subscription economy platform exclusively for small business owners.' The purpose is to assist small business owners who are struggling to open sales channels due to COVID-19.
The SM Business Distribution Center formed a subscription economy task force (TF) last February to support the establishment of a platform exclusively for small business owners based on the subscription economy business model. The TF plans to invite external experts to discuss policies and directions. The subscription economy is a new distribution service where consumers pay a certain amount to a platform and receive products and services periodically.
The subscription economy TF consists of internal departments related to product development within the SM Business Distribution Center and the department operating the distribution platform 'Gachisapsida' for small business owners. They discuss product development and commerce support measures twice a month.
The SM Business Distribution Center, centered on the TF, will establish a governance system collaborating with private platforms, associations, public institutions, and local governments to build the subscription economy platform. With private platforms, they plan to provide accessible distribution services so that general consumers can easily and quickly experience the subscription economy.
The TF is also planning a special lecture by the head of the Subscription Economy Strategy Research Center on the 6th. The SM Business Distribution Center intends to continuously operate conferences and forums to reflect opinions from various sectors into the project.
