Gyeongnam Provincial Council Inspects Opening of Newly Established Yongsu Elementary School in Geoje
Gyeongnam Provincial Council Education Committee Member Kim Seong-gap Conducts On-site Inspection
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Gyeongnam Provincial Council conducted an on-site inspection of the completion check for Yongso Elementary School, a newly established elementary school in the Geoje area.
Assemblyman Kim Seong-gap, a member of the Education Committee, visited the new school site on the 31st to inspect the preparations for the school's opening.
On this day, Assemblywoman Ok Eun-sook of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council and Assemblywoman Choi Yang-hee of Geoje City also accompanied the visit.
During the visit, Assemblyman Kim directly inspected the completion check targets related to the Yongso Elementary School construction together with officials from the Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education and the construction company, and listened to difficulties regarding the school opening and student enrollment preparations.
Yongso Elementary School was originally scheduled to open and enroll students in March of this year, but the construction period was extended due to a change in construction methods during the development of the school site on mountainous terrain, as well as the prolonged rainy season and typhoons last year.
Accordingly, the students scheduled to enroll were temporarily assigned to nearby schools for two months, and the actual enrollment is now possible on May 1.
