Golden Blue, Whiskey 'Golden Blue' Surpasses 50 Million Bottles in Cumulative Sales
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Golden Blue announced on the 1st that the cumulative sales volume of its flagship whiskey product, 'Golden Blue,' has exceeded 50 million bottles as of the end of March.
Golden Blue focused on a smooth, low alcohol content and introduced the first whiskey under 40 degrees in Korea in 2009 with 'Golden Blue.' 'Golden Blue' has an alcohol content of 36.5 degrees, which is lower than typical whiskeys, but it is made from 100% Scottish whiskey distillate, giving it an excellent flavor.
Launched in December 2009, 'Golden Blue' first surpassed 10 million bottles sold in March 2015, 20 million bottles in October 2016, and exceeded 30 million bottles in February 2018. It broke through 40 million bottles in June 2019 and recorded a cumulative sales volume of 50 million bottles this March.
If the 'Golden Blue' whiskey bottles sold in 11 years and 4 months since launch were stood vertically, they would measure 11,000 km, enough to travel from Baekdusan to Hallasan (about 960 km) 5.7 times, or make 12.5 round trips from Seoul to Busan (440 km).
