"Establishing Status as a Comprehensive Economic Organization"... KCCI Executes Organizational Restructuring
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] The Korea Employers Federation (KEF) announced on the 1st that it has carried out an organizational restructuring, including the establishment of new departments and role adjustments, to build its status as a comprehensive economic organization and to actively and proactively respond to issues related to corporate activities.
First, amid rapidly changing corporate management environments such as the 4th Industrial Revolution and industrial structure reorganization, KEF established the 'Regulatory Reform Team' and the 'Wage & HR Policy Team' to strengthen support for companies. The existing Corporate Management Team was renamed the Future Innovation Team, with role adjustments to specialize and systematize its work.
The newly established Regulatory Reform Team will handle support for new industries related to the 4th Industrial Revolution and corporate regulatory improvement tasks. The Wage & HR Policy Team will support the rational restructuring of corporate wage systems and actively respond to wage increase issues, KEF explained.
Additionally, the existing Corporate Management Team was renamed the 'Future Innovation Team' and its roles were adjusted to proactively respond to future industrial structural changes.
The Social Policy Headquarters was also renamed the Employment and Social Policy Headquarters and plans to actively address employment issues. Within the headquarters, the Social Policy Team will be exclusively responsible for ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management tasks, which have recently gained importance.
The Public Relations Office will be in charge of alleviating anti-corporate sentiment and enhancing public trust in companies, continuously conducting multifaceted public communication activities to establish a culture where companies are trusted by the public.
KEF introduced a new general executive system to improve work unity and focus, and in line with the organizational restructuring, newly hired about 10 specialized and excellent personnel.
Furthermore, to normalize the education and training tasks and member support tasks, which have been stagnant since COVID-19, the International Cooperation Headquarters’ Training Operations Team and the Management Support Office’s Member Support Team, previously team-level departments, were each elevated to the 'Training Headquarters' and the 'Member Support Headquarters.'
